Nonprofit To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) has released a new shirt, a portion of the proceeds from which will go to organizations Partners in Health and Espere Counseling meeting mental health needs in Haiti in the wake of Hurricane Matthew. The shirt reads “nou avèk ou” – “us with you” in Haitian Creole, to remind those experiencing grief, trauma and PTSD that they are neither alone in their experience nor without support.
“In America, our headlines are dominated by the election, but Haiti deserves our attention,” TWLOHA founder Jamie Tworkowski shared. “Simply put, it’s a crisis. This shirt is a small attempt on our part, to shift the focus and to do what we can to help our neighbors.”
