How did you get your start in music?
I’ve been a huge fan of music for as long as I can remember. I responded to it at an early age. So, I guess I got my start singing along to Stevie Wonder albums.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
On April 10th, 2015 I performed at the Polk Theatre to a packed house to celebrate the release of my new album, ‘Magnolia’. Some things just aren’t meant to be put in to words. They can’t be explained. Like pure magic. That was one of those moments.
Why should people listen to you? What makes you different?
Honesty. I’ve written every note and every word of every song. When you listen to my stuff, you’re getting real life and real experiences. I figure that you can’t get people to listen unless you’re willing to tell them the truth. I’m after authenticity, and I do everything I can to convey that in my music. I have to think that there are a few people out there who want the same.
Keep up with Michael McArthur on all thing social!
