Straight from Corpus Christi, TX comes Leave The Former, a kindred blend of pop-rock. Fronted by the soulfully serious Gracie Cast, the group has premiered their brand new track, “Present/Absent.” An intimate track, Cast opened up about the song and what it means to her.
“This song is about the one person who has always been there for me through thick and thin: the human being who gave birth to me. Last year something drastic happened in both of our lives and it changed everything. It felt like there was a wall dividing us because we couldn’t understand each other no matter how hard we tried. We each had our own battles to fight. It affected me pretty heavily because I felt so alone and like I didn’t have anyone to turn to. Thankfully things are a lot better now.”
