The world is full of incredibly talented people. Even better is when a group of talented people comes together to make something new, creative, and fun. Daddy’s Cash is a perfect example of how a group’s collective passion for music can lead to success without becoming jaded.

Their saga begins back in 2010 in a format similar to other band origin stories. A group of close friends work together on music so much that it just organically happened. From there, they started playing small gigs for family and friends with cover songs. According to the band, “Friends started bringing their friends to shows and Daddy’s Cash started taking off. After a while we decided to take the next step in our musical progression and leave playing covers to start working on our own material as a band.” In the process, they developed their own sound by mixing styles a wide range of styles together, covering blues to hip hop and everything in between.”

Now- five years later- the group consists of nine members: Łukasz Belcyr, Radoslaw Dzielski, Wojciech Inglot, Michał Jasiczek, Michael “Patches” Stewart, Michał Borowski, Łukasz Wiercioch, Jędrzej Jasiczek, and Krzysztof Repack. In addition to this, they have a 13-piece band, a platinum single in Poland, and their upcoming album (Hello) about drop in the United States. However, they are keeping their goals simple stating that, “We really appreciate that so many people helped us reach that high goal in Poland. Now we are trying to spread our music to the U.S. and other countries.

This isn’t to say they don’t have big dreams. “Our band’s dream is to perform in Madison Square Garden.  It can’t get any better than that.” They also hope to collaborate with Pitbull, Lil’ Wayne, Jason Derulo, or Bruno Mars. “We definitely have some material that would suit these guys.”

All that aside, music and teamwork are what truly matters to the band at the end of the day. “When describing what their writing process, the group said, “The lyrics usually come on the fly and are strongly connected with our life experience. Every member of our band contributes. When it comes to perfecting our songs and our arrangements the whole band works as a cohesive team.”

This collective attitude has also helped them through both good and bad aspects of their career, particularly in the beginning stages of the band. When describing this point in time, the said, “As we started to work as a band, we literally started from the very beginning. Nobody knew whether we would be able to make a living doing it. We had to forget all of our everyday jobs and start working as musicians. Every member of the band has something else in their lives other than music. We had to sacrifice most of our earnings and focus on music, believing that it will pay of. We are still writing and think positively. The struggles come back every now and then. There is nothing that we can really do other than support each other and work hard and give it everything we have to make our musical dreams come true one day.”

As a group, they also take a lot of pride in their work. The band said they spent a significant amount of time trying to find the ideal sound for their most recent singles, “This is My Party” and “We Will Never Know”. Their hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed either. A New Jersey music video promotion company, HIP Video Promo, praised the group saying, “If you’re looking for a group who has almost single-handedly mastered the essence of funk, soul, and R&B music and achieved both critical and commercial success in the process, look no further than Poland’s favorite 13-piece musical tsunami, Daddy’s Cash.” The continued by adding, “In an age of digital recordings, backing tracks, and studio tricks, this is a band that has established themselves in the most honest way, with an explosive live show and prolific output of gritty jazz and soul infused studio recordings.”

With the upcoming U.S. release of their album, Hello, the band is entering another make or break period. “Hopefully, one day we will be able to share our music with more and more people and inspire them with our songs [with this album].” I, personally, have high hopes for the band, but if things don’t play out as the band (and myself) hoped, they should still be proud. “On our upcoming album “Hello” you can hear more than 20 different instruments and 4 vocals. All recorded live! That’s pretty awesome considering the modern music business,” said the group. And they’re right; it’s impressive considering how many people are using software instruments and dubstep to make hits, which is not necessarily a bad thing but it’s just to be reminded that real, live recordings are still relevant. They added, “That is the thing that differentiates us from just a ‘time to time’ gig band. In Daddy’s Cash, you don’t just focus on your own instrument. You listen to everything and we work as a team to make every song special. This is the essence of a real band.”

Though there are no guarantees for the future of the band, it would be surprising if this group didn’t at least continue their string of success in Poland or even gain fans internationally. They do have a music is fairly similar to Bruno Mars’, so there must be a demand for more music in that form.

More importantly, they have the drive and passion that is necessary to achieve greatness. “We just work together and create music that flows from our hearts,” is how the band described what they do. Later they added, “Hopefully one day we will be able to share our music with more and more people and inspire them with our songs.”
