Rock outfit Mr. Moonshine have debuted their newest single, “Bleed For Me” the groovy rock track meshes styles of Queens of the Stone Age and Billy Idol. The group also went behind the scenes with Highlight for their newest single.
“Bleed For Me” came about as a songwriting competition between Daysmel Muniz (guitars) and Anthony Pedroza (bass) while living in New York City. Their friend Jessica Slagle was the judge, and Anthony, knowing how much Jessica loved the TV show “True Blood,” wrote the song in that vein. The song was finished shortly after basing the lyrics off of the show’s character Russell Edgington. We were then approached by friend and filmmaker Jaclyn Chessen who needed a song for her film “Shock Attack,” which “Bleed For Me” is now featured in, among many other Mr. Moonshine tracks. We think “Bleed For Me” is awesome because it not only takes lines from “True Blood” such as, “You’re getting the better end of the deal,” but also from the flim “Shock Attack” like, “One eel could light house, yeah, but who is going in for the swim.” The lyrics are pretty silly, spewing from the mouths of dead vampires and horror movie characters. But melodically and in production we think we upped the cool factor.”
Lyrics:
Some will die, bodies lie all around me
Into night, I will bite and I’m thirsty
You’re getting the better end of the deal
You’re getting the better end of the deal
One drop of blood I’ll have the sun all around me
As if fate could have it’s way with me
You’re getting the better end of the deal
You’re getting the better end of the deal
Why do you bleed?
You bleed for me
Why do you bleed?
Because I’m thirsty
Don’t think about it think about it
Think about it think about it
When the shit hits the fan
Here’s what we’re gonna do, nothing
You meant to bring light but nothing good will come from it
One eel could light a house yeah but who is going in for the swim?
OH YEAH
Here I lie half alive with my mind
You’re not my kind, you’ll regret this when I rise
You’re getting the better end of the deal
You’re getting the better end of the deal
Why do you bleed?
You bleed for me
Why do you bleed?
You bleed for me
Why do you bleed?
You bleed for me
Why do you bleed?
Because I’m thirsty
