You Blew It! – Pioneer Of Nothing
By: Trevor Figge
You Blew It! will be releasing their EP Pioneer of Nothing on January 27th and the emo scene is anxiously anticipating its release. Upon listening to Pioneer Of Nothing, you will be immediately greeted by twinkly ambient ‘noodling’. Pioneer Of Nothing at its core is a really good emo EP. It leaves you wanting more, craving rainy cold days to curl up in a warm hoodie and think about your past. It is most certainly emo. The musicality of their three song EP is ambient, beautiful and slightly complex. If you are looking for an EP to transition from indie music into emo, this very well could be that EP. It’s not to punk (like many newer emo bands are), nor is it to sad to function, it’s just sad enough.
Pioneer Of Nothing is a good release. It doesn’t blow me away or leave me feeling let down. Rather it’s just a very solid release from an up-and-coming band in the emo scene. Make sure you look out for You Blew It! and their sure to be vibrant career in the scene.
