New wave pop band, The Millenium, will have melodies sticking to you for days. The four-piece based out of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, released their debut EP, It’s So Much Friendlier With Two, this past winter. The group is also spending the fall on the Turn Up Tour with Hollywood Ending. Combining traditional pop style with a fusion of new wave beats, the band creates an infectious sound unique to themselves.

How did you form?
Kyle Culver and Matt both were originally in a band called The Last Semester and the other Kyle and Sean were both in a band named The Picture Perfect. While we were all friends in our previous respective bands, friendships and chemistry grew much stronger after both bands broke up and individuals were left looking for musical outlets, which would end up coming in The Millenium.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Being a relatively new band (February 2014) not much time has passed, however we have had the privilege of playing our first show to over 400 people at UW Eau Claire, opening for The Summer Set; along with being lucky to be taken out on our first tour by our friends in 7 Minutes In Heaven and The Big Time. This has built to our next tour, one we are very excited about, when we head out on the road with Hollywood Ending in October.
Why should people listen to you? What makes you different?
We often feel like we have the ability to appeal to multiple musical tastes. Having such a wide and diverse palette of influences within the group, this allows us to not necessarily confine to one “formula” of style and instead strive to write whatever connections better emotionally. As we often seem to be the pop band in a punk world, this doesn’t mean we’re more of one over the other; we just hope to connect with both fans equally through our music and shows.
