The Copyrights – Report
The Copyrights put out their 6th studio album Tuesday titled Report. Now The Copyrights have and always will be a punk-rock band. Despite the slow but steady take over of modern Pop-Punk, The Copyrights have remained punk-rock. Report is proof of this, it is jam packed with fourteen songs, each and every one as fast as the last, none longer than two and a half minutes, and all catchy punk-rock. From the melodic choruses to the rough, distorted, scratchy verses; Adam Fletcher keeps you begging for more.
Songs like “The World Is Such A Drag” will have you singing along with the chorus as it tears through your heart. Then there are songs like “Keep The Change” that are undoubtedly begging for a circle pit. However, my only complaint that I could possibly have with this album is that the short songs leave you begging for more, whether it’s a longer verse or even just a bridge. I often found myself saying, “I wish there was more to this song.” But despite all of this I truly do like this album. Every song starts immediately with no thirty second wait. Report grabs you immediately and pulls you in. This is punk-rock where there are no pretty instrumentals, just fast and distorted music. Don’t let this album pass under your radar; it is easily one of the top punk-rock albums put out in the last five years.
