Last week Vayns released their brand new and debut self-titled EP. Between the beats and rhymes of both Botzy and Munqs, this EP will get you pumped up and keep you that way until you have a reason not to be. Luckily, we got the inside scoop to every single track on the EP! Check it out below, and listen to the EP in its entirety here.
1. Theme Song
This song was inspired by the intro music of a late night drama featuring Kanye West as Batman. Robin was played by Timberland, neither Jim Carry or Arnold Schwarzenegger were present.
We fantasized ’bout this track in Chicago.

2. Say Why?
This was the first track we made for the EP. We were imagining what it would sound like if Limp Bizkit invented Dubstep. Ultimately, I just wound up sampling a duck quack and pitch shifting it.
Boom. Bass line.
– MUNQS
3. Girl
We wrote this song…twice. The first time completely stoned, and the second time teenage drunk. The second attempt we ended up capturing something worth keeping, unlike the relationship portrayed in the song.
For real though….we were well past wasted. In hindsight, it’s actually horrible idea to get drunk with the intention of writing a song that digs up emotional wounds. It does make for good music though, eh?
– BOTZY
4. Fragments ft. Ashley DuBose
This was actually just a really lovely day. The sun was out and birds were chirping. Ashley arrived on the back of a seventeen foot swan captained by Adam Levine. He wished us all good luck and then flew off to sing outside of Taylor Swift’s window. How can you not write a love song after that?

5. Yuea
I remember the moment phrases were conceptualized… sunlight hitting the closed eyes of a lost soul. This song is a conversation we would have while you were sleeping.
One day you might wake up to a death threat disguised as poetry. All I know is, a younger version of me would have cared to take note of the exact date.
– BOTZY
6. VAYNSVAYNS ft. Sophia Eris
Adrenaline masks the pain, but not forever. Have you ever seen someone hunt something they had already caught?Hardly. No point in waking up if you plan on going back to sleep. Better give it everything you got, and everything you can steal from your enemies.
Good luck.
– BOTZY
7. Lucy’s On Fire (We Don’t Even Care) ft. Sophia Eris
This unfolded like magic. I recorded a loop of a chord progression and hummed something, then Sophia and Botzy just ran with it. An hour later, all of the verses were written and tracked.
The guitar solos on the end were contributed by Matthew Vannelli. The rumor is that Matt had to use four different guitars for each of his eight hands.
Also, there is a rumor that he has eight hands.
