How did you form?
Well… when an egg meets a sperm… Just kidding. I am me,
and I used to do my own solo artist project before creating the entity that is now Novelette. I met my writing partner Billy Libby not even 2 years ago through a mutual friend at a coffee shop. He was reading one of my favorite books, “Survivor” by Chuck Palaniuk, and I knew we’d get along after that. We holed up in March and wrote our first song together, “Deceiver.” Billy helped me achieve a sound I’d been struggling to create on my own, and I’ve learned from him about collaborating since then.
What has been the highlight of your career?
The 3 shows I played with Anthony Green were incredible. What a true artist. He took me aside the last night we played and told me that he thought I was a great writer. Circa Survive were one of my favorite bands growing up, it took everything in me to not collapse in front of Anthony. I would love to tour with him again.
Why should people listen to you? What makes you different?
I’ve been told my focus on lyrics is an important factor for people who listen to my music, if you’re looking for honesty I’ve never been able to keep much to myself. For me the art is all in the lyrics. Set that to a dreamscape of sound. I’ve never been good at giving reasons to listen to me, but I have something to say. If you like what I create when you find me, you are welcome to stay.
