Five Albums For Late Nights, Cold Hands, Changing Seasons and Hoodies
Words and Picks by Trevor Figge
Now, I know that Fall is commonly associated with campfires, hoodies, football, and pumpkin flavored anything. As well as with typically chill, acoustic, or indie music (or at least it is for me). However, I’m overly obsessed with the pop-punk scene. So instead I typically just allow my pop-punk to be doused with acoustic guitars. Here are my five albums for late nights, cold hands, changing seasons and hoodies.
The Front Bottoms – Talon Of The Hawk
The Front Bottoms have slowly but surely taken over the pop-punk scene. Why is that? Well, to put it simply it is because they are a fun, emotionally honest band that is appealing to cute girls. Talon Of The Hawk, is packed with songs like “Twin Sized Matress” and “Lone Star” that provide the perfect opportunity for your one friend that actually plays guitar, to well… play guitar.
Pentimento – Pentimento
Pentimento’s self-titled album is full of songs to leave you emotionally drained while mother nature refuses to be anything aside from gray. It will play the sad fast past songs that I assure you will become your pop-punk sound track to your late gray nights.
The Postal Service – Give Up
Give Up is the only album that The Postal Service has ever released and to this day is one of my favorite albums I own. Its calming electronic parts and soothing lyrical styling always quiet my racing thoughts.
Misser – Everyday I Tell Myself I’m Going To Be A Better Person
This album’s blend of pop-punk with American Football esque instrumentals will fit perfectly as you grasp onto your pumpkin flavored tea and contemplate the great questions of life. Can we ever get enough pumpkin flavored anything?
Into It. Over It. – Intersections
Into It. Over It. recently released Intersections, an album that fits perfectly with the orange leaves crunching under your feet. So slip on your pastel hoodie that we all know you have and let the seasons change.
