Not winning the first set of Riot Fest tickets broke my heart, the possibility of winning the second pair might repair it. :’)
Seriously though, seeing the Replacements live would make me the happiest teenager on Earth, or at least in Chicago. 🙂
Danzig
I’m most excited about The Violent Femmes because Gordon is my spirit animal.
I am so excited to see the Violent Femmes. I don’t care how well they have (or haven’t) aged. It will still be dreamy to me.
Really need to catch the Replacements when I’m in Chicago.
I’m really excited to see Brand New!
Brand New is going to be amazing
Brand New was all I ever listened to in high school. I’d love to hear Jesse’s voice live again.
Chuck Ragan!
SCREECHING WEASEL. I MEAN, C’MON NOW.
Replacements, enough said
Can’t wait to see the Pixies!!
I’m really excited to see Brand New and Say Anything. I’ve been trying to see both bands for years.
Oh highlights mag, there are geneous people in this world, and you are of that category! I just wanted to mention how much it would mean for me to go, aside from just being a punk rock girl and wanting to go cause a (fun) ruckus. I have always been a sort of nostaglic person, for times that I had not even experienced. I listen to bands like The Smiths, Decepeche Mode, Joy Division, Blondie, and The Cure, and cannot relate to the majority of my peers, musically. “I get along more with your mother than with you”.
When I was a young girl, bands like Bad Religion, The Misfits, Flatfoot 56, and others dear to my heart were releasing music I wish I had been old enough to see live. Now, to the delight of thousands, many bands of “yesterday” and today will be sharing the same stage. I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that many artists will be sharing the same stages that their idols and inspirations will be. The one and only Davey Havok, and the iconic Glenn Danzig are just one example of this observation.
In a nutshell, I would be eternally grateful if I could go.
Riot On! \n/
