Norwich, CT rock outfit, The Runaround, may be fairly new on the scene, but they acquire the drive and intensity to do whatever it takes to thrive in an industry where it sometimes appears to be survival of the fittest. This year has been one full of excitement and hard work for four-piece band, with the release of their debut full length album, Without All The Weight, which dropped on May 28th. With a twelve track album and a solid lineup under their belt, they are prepared to break out full force into the music industry and get their message across. They certainly have a lot to say as well as a lot of talent that deserves to be heard by the ears of many.

How did your band form?
This band Started With Michael Cookson. Over the years it was trial and error of trying different people out. We’ve had this lineup for the last year and we think its our most comfortable and compatable line up yet.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
The Highlight of our music career so far was definitely getting the chance to have our record Without All The Weight produced and mixed and mastered by Gary Cioffi. He taught our band so much about every aspect of music and life. He was a huge part of our band taking our career to the next level. He’s really good at bringing the absolute best out of musicians.
Why should people listen to The Runaround?
We feel people should enjoy listening to our music because we write really honest music.
We never put on an act and stay as connected with our fans as possible.
Everything that our band stands for is having a good time and having a great vibe.
Nothing is more important to a band than the vibe they give people.
What makes you different?
This band is different than most bands because we have a really large span of music that we cover on our album Without All The Weight. We don’t set limits on how we should sound. Which we don’t think it makes us any better than any other band, we just have a different approach to writing music. We do our own thing.

This band is known in our town for kicking out some of their members for no apparent reason…. also- I’ve met the lead singer personally.. he’s no gem. He’s kind of a dickhead.
Annie can’t wear heels is one of the best all time local-level tracks I’ve ever heard. I’ve been around a while too.
That first comment up there seems a little bitter. Why did you need to take the time out of your day to write something negative instead of doing something positive with your day?
