Sometimes after a long, hard day it’s good to kick back and rid your mind of life for a short moment. Drink some tea, stare out the window, and listen to some good fulfilling music. Back in 2006 in Philadelphia, an energetic yet soothing indie-rock band called, The National Rifle, formed. Ever since they have blessed the world with four EP’s and most recently, a full-length album that released this past January entitled, Almost EndlessCheck out their profile below, get to know them, and take a listen to their most recent album for some great new music.

How did The National Rifle form?
Hugh and Jeremiah became friends in middle school when Jeremiah was also dating Buddy’s older sister. The three played in different bands for several years beginning in high school but made the first recording for The National Rifle in 2006.  Lynna worked with Hugh and joined on keys in 2009.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?
We feel like recording Almost Endless has been the highest point of our career.  Working with Jon and Brian in the studio really brought our sound to a whole new level.  The process allowed us to better understand how to express ourselves in the studio and how to achieve our musical goals. I feel like we’ve come further as a band in those few months than we have in all the years we’ve been together.

Why should people listen to you? What makes your band different?
We’re always looking forward and trying to reach something new. Although there are obvious influences in our music, we’re never just recycling as I feel a lot of other bands do. So much music today is backwards-looking.  We never want to be that kind of band.
