You may be wondering lately who is A Silent Film? We are here to tell you because frankly, they are a band you are just going to need to know!
Who are these blokes?
A Silent Film is a band from Oxford, England consisting of Robert Stevenson (vocals & piano), Ali Hussain (bass), Karl Bareham (guitar), and Spencer Walker (drums). They released their first album, A City That Sleeps in 2008 and followed that up with Sand & Snow in 2012.
‘Sand & Snow’? They don’t have either of those in England.
Their second album was recorded in Arizona while the guys lived in the US. They were amazed by the wide open landscape of the American southwest and by the proximity of snowy mountains to sandy deserts.
Wow, that’s interesting. Have I heard them before?
Depends. Are your friends confused when you tell them that you are listening to A Silent Film? Seriously though, you probably have. Their two most recent singles, Danny, “Dakota & the Wishing Well” and “Harbour Lights” have received airplay on American alternative stations.
What do they sound like?

Hmm, I enjoy early Coldplay records. Where can I see A Silent Film live?
They are currently touring with Gold Fields and Royal Teeth through the western United States. They have also been confirmed for the 2nd year of Firefly Festival in Deleware.
Why do British vocalists lose their accents when they sing?
It’s one of the mysteries of the universe.
