Happy Halloween Highlighters! We understand Halloween is a bit of a creepy holiday, especially with the rising popularity of movies and TV shows such as Twilight and The Walking Dead. People can go a little over the top with their costumes. For our last Halloween guest blog we chatted with Austin of the band Singled Out about the creepiest thing he has ever seen on Halloween. I think you will be as surprised as I was when you find out what this could possibly be, especially hailing from the state that “invented” this famous holiday. When I was about 12 or 13 years old, I was out with some friends in Minneapolis around Halloween time. Since Anoka, MN is the Halloween capitol of the world (it was the place to first introduce Halloween celebrations in 1920!), people take it very seriously in Minnesota! You see everything from terrifying, gore covered monsters, to those groups of females who you can’t tell if they’re prostitutes or if they’re out for Halloween. When I thought I had seen it all, I see a giant penis walk on by. This person even took a step up by putting red bumps all over it. I have no idea if it was a guy or girl, or how they even saw where they were walking. But I guess a diseased penis is a pretty scary sight.
