Texas In July – Texas In July
Review by Kristy Siciliano

Lancaster Pennsylvania’s very own Texas In July, just released their third studio album entitled Texas In July, a self-titled album. Since the release of One Reality their self-titled has been highly anticipated album. After going on tours with accomplished bands and doing some of their own headliners it was only needed that Texas In July had to write and release some new music to flow through our ears. With that being said, their self-titled album is definitely a good follow up to One Reality.

Their self-titled album is a lot heavier then their other albums One Reality and I Am. Their sound has progressed since they first came together as a band in 2007. It is clearly evident the amount of progress Texas In July has made as a whole since their first EP entitled Salt of the Earth to their new self-titled album. Their sound is definitely a sound of their own and they have no resemblance to any other band that is out there currently.

The instrumentals throughout this album are so tight and clean. The drumming is impeccable with the timing and rhythms. The drums, throughout the entire album, are extremely powerful and they keep the guitars and bass in time. The guitars are very diverse in timing, but flows with the styles of the songs and they have a variety of differences to them. Everything about the instrumentals in this album are very tight, like I stated above, but it needed to be reiterated.

“Cry Wolf” is the second song off of the album, which in my opinion is one of the best songs. The transitions throughout the song with the drums and guitars are wonderful. Everything flows and fits well together. The tonality that is used throughout the song works perfectly. It’s a heavy song, clearly, because Texas In July is on the heavier side, but it’s definitely enjoyable.

Texas In July produced a really solid album. You can sense how hard they worked and how much time and thought they put into this album. Everyone needs to pick up a copy of this album or at least listen to it. Currently Texas In July just started the Unshakeable Tour with acts such as For Today, Impending Doom, The Chariot, Sleeping Giant and Hundredth. It’s an incredible tour and if it comes to a town near you I highly recommend seeing Texas In July, they put on an incredible show.
