Adam Lazzara, best known as the front man for Taking Back Sunday, might be putting out a solo record. Lazzara says in a recent interview:
I’m worried that whenever I get my shit together and actually make my album, it’ll get dismissed […] I’m afraid people will say, ‘Oh, it’s just that emo guy.’ That’s not exactly who I am, and I don’t want to have to meet with that kind of immediate dismissal or opposition.
However, with Taking Back Sunday “reentering” the world with their leg on the Vans Warped Tour, I don’t believe that anyone in their right mind would just dismiss Lazzara if he tried to put out a solo album. It is people like him, who have been in the industry for years, who set examples for everyone else, and if there was a perfect time to put out a solo record, it would be now.
