“I’ve realized you’re better off at a distance, I’ve compromised my health and need to resist this,” sings Candice Maritato on Woolbright’s single “What’s It Gonna Be” off their debut full-length album Busybody Lazybones, which will be released on August 9, 2017 via Whelmed Records. With two demos under their belt, this release shows the growth of the band’s sound that was previously hinted at on the song “Clean” which was released on a compilation album for Standing Rock by Coolicide Records

Asking the person in question to make a choice, Maritato’s emotional voice is backed by personal lyrics and the track shows off her strength as a songwriter as well as vocalist. The instrumentals capture the band’s dynamic sound with a heavy rock leaning in addition to indie influences.  The ringing bass line is backed by bright brassy sounding guitars and varied drums that come together to create a solid wall of sound.

If this is any indication of what the album will sound like, expect lyrics that tell a story and a sound that’s hard to nail down to just one genre.  Make sure to listen to the song and check out the track listing for the record below. You can preorder the record here. Composed of members from both Basebourne & Lando (and the infinite sadness), this Davie, Florida group are not one to miss. Check out their new song below.
