A decade after the release of their last album, Insomniatic–and attempting a reinvention under the brief moniker 78violet–Aly & AJ are back. On this #NewMusicFriday, they unveiled the first taste of material they’ve been teasing on social media for months: an explosive single, “Take Me,” which suggests the duo has made a sonic transition from pop rock to indie pop.
(According to Buzzfeed, the track released today is an early version of “Take Me.” The finalized single is due out sometime in the next few weeks.)
