Track By Track: Jaeger Wells, Fever Dream Anthology

0

Singer-songwriter Jaeger Wells is in the business of honest music. His album, Fever Dream Anthology is a testament to that. Mixing eclectic guitar tones with a stream of consciousness style of lyrics, Well’s tune are catchy, as well as relatable. We recently spoke with Wells about his EP and what each song means to him. You can check out the album here.

Sao Paulo Liars Club

“Sao Paulo” came about when I first started traveling a great deal by myself. There were a lot of long hours on buses and planes to various places, some exotic, some not so much, where I felt like I was just in a catatonic state of transit and mind. I tried to combat the creeping loneliness by holding onto any shred of comfort that I thought I could find. This song is about staring at the mini bar and listening to the violent hum you only hear in hospitals and hotels.

What It Feels Like

I initially started writing this song about a couple friends who were in a terrible relationship with each other, where there was a lot of paranoia that there was cheating occurring (which turned out to be true). Watching this happen over the course of the relationship I got to see that it wasn’t disintegrating because of the cheating, it was the growing paranoia and constant anxiety that something bad was just around the corner. This song is about owning that fear and taking the leap into the unknown.|

For The Jilted, For The Broken

This is an ode I wrote about accepting that it’s okay to be lonely and jaded at times. People want to feel self-worth in their lives and one of the ways to feel that is through embracing rituals and idiosyncrasies; it is what makes you feel human. I wrote this at a time when I was trying to combat loneliness by embracing really unhealthy daily routines in hopes it would steer me towards the light.

Rotten Apple (Of My Eye)

“Rotten Apple” is about being free of the weight of burdensome relationships and really learning to be comfortable in your skin. It is a battle cry to finding your inner voice and being able to tell the demons holding you back to fuck off.
East Coast Ghosts

We all get older and we see the people we have called friends/peers get older and it seems like they progress into “adulthood” faster than you. This song is an analysis of all the voices in your head, trying to understand if you’re truly different or if you have really progressed in your life without realizing it.
