Five Best Albums For Spring Break
Words & Picks by Jenn Stookey

Spring break is a mini summer for those who are still in school. It doesn’t matter whether you spend your week on the beach, up in the mountains, or at home relaxing with friends, because no matter what it’s a week of fun, memories and great music. I always associate spring break with long, wild, and crazy nights, road trips and a week to be free. With that in mind, check out my list of the five best albums to listen to during spring break.

Hoodie Allen – All American
Hoodie Allen is an up and coming hip hop artist who recently released a new album, Crew Cuts. However, for the sole purpose of upbeat tunes that will make your spring break memorable, check out his album All American. There is not a single track that won’t make you feel like you’re on top of the world when you and you’re friends are listening to it. It gets your heart racing and you’ll be bobbing your head before you can say “spring break 2k13.” To start off your break right check out his song “Lucky One.”

The Summer Set – Love Like This
For many of us in the pop-rock scene, I think we can all agree that The Summer Set’s debut album, Love Like This, is a staple party album. With songs that will make you dance and jump up and down as well as slower songs to make for a perfect night of relaxation, this is a great album to have on your ipod during spring break. Blast it on your car speakers as you ride around town, on the beach with your friends, or in your headphones as you shred down a mountain. It’s perfect for any situation.

Outasight – Nights Like These
Outasight’s most recent album, Nights Like These, is another great album to have on copy for spring break. It’s new. It’s pop. It’s catchy. And the title says it all. You’ll want to have “nights like these” during spring break, and you’ll want to have nights you’ll remember for the rest of your life, so why not do it with the perfect album playing in the background?

Mod Sun – Happy As F*ck
Mod Sun. A hippy. A music maker. A down to earth guy who creates down to earth music. Spring break isn’t about petty arguments, school or feeling alone. It’s about chilling out for a week, forgetting life’s little problems and being with the people who bring out the best in you. This album is perfect for all of that. It’s chill while at the same time bringing your life to life, and Mod Sun is the king of having a good time with no issues. Check out this five track album and get lost in the good times.

Cher Lloyd – Sticks & Stones
This list would be incomplete without a strong and independent female singer. This year Cher Lloyd has graced us with her outstanding and original voice. Her debut effort, Sticks & Stones, will get the party started whether you’re a girl or a guy. You won’t be able to help yourself from singing along and dancing with the person next to you. Her lyrics will get jammed in your head with no escape route. You’ve probably heard her two singles on the radio; “Want You Back” and “Oath,” but for something new check out her song “Grow Up” featuring Busta Rhymes.
