February 6, 2013 // La Sala Rossa // Montreal
Review and Photos by Charlie Martel

February 6 was the day that  the North American tour of Letlive supported by HRVRD, Conditions, This is Hell and Rescuer visited Montreal, Canada. Unfortunatly, Conditions was absent due to an unforeseen tranportation difficulty. However, the other bands didn’t fail to bring it for the audience at La Sala Rossa, which was eager to enjoy the evening.

Rescuer, opened the night with force and they were gladly welcomed by the crowd. The band from Florida engaged the audience and kept them dancing throughout the set. For the band’s first show in Montreal, they managed to deliver a solid and confident performance, making them turn spectators into fans with their energy and talent.

NYC band, This is Hell, followed Rescuer’s performance. As it was my first time seeing them live, I was glad to become hooked in by their heavy sound and chemistry between the members. On stage the guitarist’s energy is contagious and he manages to keep the crowd going. At the last song of the set, Jason Aalon Butler, letlive’s front man made an appearance to support This is Hell, giving the crowd chills and  a nice preview of what was to come.

HRVRD, the third set of the night, turned  the vibe around with their unique style. They were  a contrast from the other bands of the night. The ambiance brought by lead signer Jesse’s genuine vocals was incredible. The crowd was charmed and clammered for more. HRVRD showcased their material from their upcoming album that will be release on Feb. 19, and the crowd couldn’t get enough. Each member’s charisma is indescribable when they perform, and I can already say that I can’t wait until they come back to Montreal.

letlive. was the last act of the night. Energetic isn’t a strong enough word to describe the powerful amount of energy the group brings to the stage, especially the front man, Jason Aalon Butler. He completely blew my mind with the quality of his vocals. He brought chills to many of the fans throughout the set especially during ”Muther”. Jumping all over the stage, rolling over, dashing to every corner possible, nothing was going to stop Butler. Until the very last note letlive gave it all and not a single fan left the venue unsatisfied.
