The Last Word – Endlessly Crashing
Review by Kristy Siciliano

The Last Word, a band coming from London, England just released their debut album entitled, “Endlessly Crashing”.  The Last Word recorded this album at Chango Studios, located in sunny Orlando, Florida. Sounds ranging from bands like Memphis May Fire to Ten After Two to Asking Alexandria, their musicality shines throughout the album. Even though they have influences throughout this album that you can recognize, you can still sense their own personal style, which doesn’t sound like any other band, at least in my opinion.

The vocals and screams are clean and drastic. The vocal range and tonality that is going on throughout the album keeps you wanting more and makes you want to keep listening. The screams can get extremely deep and low, where as the clean vocals can range to a higher pitch. With that being said, the album is very dynamic and versatile, which keeps the music interesting.

The guitars are on point. They are very rhythmic and they keep an interesting tone to the feelings of all the songs on the album. When the guitars are playing a fast rhythm, they are extremely tight and clean. It’s hard to describe, but when you hear it you will understand what I mean by that. The harmonies between the two guitars work wonderfully to create a drastic flow throughout the songs to make them all unique and different.

“The Closing Chapter”, my personal favorite off of the album, is a completely different feeling throughout the song then the rest of them. It starts off really slow and calming.  The singers voice is beautiful for this song and has a unique sound. The best part about this particular song is how subtle everything is, the instruments aren’t overpowering or overbearing to the vocals. The use of gang vocals towards the end is good ending to the song and gives it that extra push to be an impeccable song.

All in all, this album is a great debut album. It has a bunch of versatility, when it comes to the vocals, guitars, drums, bass and the electronics that are put throughout the album. If you’re looking for new music to check out and love, this album is the album to set free on your ears. It has a mix throughout the songs of where it could be fast paced to gradually slowing down, which is lovely, especially for those folks who need to have a good balance of screaming and clean vocals. But hands down, I highly recommend this album, if you’re looking for something new definitely head over to their Facebook and check out their music. If it would be something you’re into go purchase their album!
